A Limited Fork Theory blog dedicated to awkward posts and twisted sensory modes of expression whose backbone is sound and the potential for sound because it moves on some scale in some location for some duration of time
Does the lyrebird have a more colorful phase? I hope not; I like the more muted tones of this representation. The stand-out aspect is sound. The sonic impact perhaps can be more intense. Certainly a sonic echo travels further than sight. Sonically, the bird is immense, and can both transmit and receive sound over a wider distance than the bird can see or can be seen. It might be interesting to have a cross-section of the head and neck, exposing mechanics of lyrebird sound production.
